Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind.To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.

Good Afternoon

doreablackrp:

She kept her eyes locked with his, noting the strange intensity they held. She was slightly taken aback, but was able to keep herself collected. The corners of her mouth curved only slightly as she spoke. “Well, I came across a book, as of late, in the restricted section,”, her words were curious. “About Legilimency.” As she spoke the last word, Dorea felt a tiny surge of excitement, but kept her physical appearance contained. She raised an eyebrow slightly, giving her a near seductive expression as she spoke. “The subject matter fascinated me completely, being able to extract others emotions and memories…But as I read on, I also learned about quite the opposite.”, at this pause, Dorea’s mouth curved into a rather mischievous smile. “Occlumency.” She could tell her voice had a tinge of curiousity. “You see, Master Riddle, I was curious as to how one may learn such abilities. The books tell me that only highly skilled magical persons are able to master the skill, and that it is magic that is not allowed to be taught in the halls of Hogwarts…”.

A slow smirk appeared on his face as she ended her last comment. The message in the comment was hanging between them in the air. He swiftly raised from his chair and took a step forward. Looming over her, he looked down into her eyes. ”Why learning Occlumency when Legilimency is so much more satisfying,” he hissed the last word softly. His eyes sparkled as his lips curled. ”Being able to imbue someone’s being, hurtling through the strands of emotions, memories. Destroying them, ripping through them.” His voice had taken a silken tone as he spoke of things he enjoyed in life. Hurting. ”Why occlumency?” he again asked. Of course, he was able to practice the opposite magic. He wasn’t fond of it. He had mastered the skill a long time ago and he couldn’t do much with it like he thought he could.

Good Afternoon.

doreablackrp:

-Dorea still stands properly, unaffected by the indifference in his voice. She gazes at him confidently with intent. - Well then, I am at least pleased to find you so. -She nods her head respectfully.- Actually, I had a question, if I have not interrupted anything of great import. I had hoped to gain your expertise on the matter…

Tom put his book aside. It was an interesting book he had been reading, but alas. There were moments he had to be polite and make people like him. Tilting his head to the side, he locked his gaze with hers, Dorea Black. He had met enough Blacks to last him a liftetime. He had not conversed much with this one, though. Clasping his hands together, he nodded. ”Speak.”

Freak!

The little boy started chuckling softly as he pushed another boy down. The group of children surrounding the pair started laughing too. Laughing at the demise of one of their own. The laughing went on and on. In his mind, they laughed for hours, days, months. Even years crossed his mind for a second. His backside hurt a bit, but the part inside hurt the most. The part that kept thinking the world wasn’t so bad, people weren’t so mean. That little part, called hope, slowly diminished as the children kept laughing and pointing at him. They mocked him. He could feel tears welling up in his eyes. Balling his fists, he tried to stop them from rolling down his cheeks. That would only make them laugh harder, louder.

‘’You’re a freak, Riddle!’’ the boy, Dennis, yelled at him. Tom, who had previously had his gaze fixated on the soil ground, looked up then. He narrowed his eyes as that abominable word was thrown at him. Freak. He couldn’t count on two hands how many times he had been called that way. Freak. At only 4 years old, he knew the word inside out.  ‘’The word freak is commonly used to refer to a person with something unusual about their appearance or behavior.’’ He had looked it up in a dictionary at age 2.  That was the moment the big boys in the orphanage had started to call him. He wasn’t sure if any of them knew his real name.

‘’My name is Tom,’’ he slowly answered Dennis. The group quieted down as they looked at Dennis. Dennis had a mean look on his face as he took a step forward. Tom hated Dennis. Dennis always had it out for him, running after him, ruining his stuff and badmouthing him to the staff of the orphanage. When Tom did some of his weird stuff, Dennis was the first to have alerted miss Cole. Miss Cole would then lock Tom in his room without any food. Dennis always smiled when Tom was locked up. He didn’t like Tom at the orphanage. Nobody did.

‘’I don’t care, freak!’’ the bully hissed. Tom had always known he was different. He wasn’t like the other kids in the orphanage. He was very smart, could already read before he even stepped into his third year on earth. He was also very special. Tom could do things nobody could. He could make bad things happen to people who were mean to him.

‘’You will be sorry.’’

Good Afternoon.

Good afternoon, Master Riddle. -Dorea bows into a deep curtsy.- It seems we have not yet crossed each others paths thus far. How, may I ask, are you doing today?

Good afternoon miss Black. - assesses her with an indifferent look on his face - If you want to assume something like that, then yes. You have not crossed my path. I just ca not figure out if I would care if you did or not. If I may assume, I think it is the latter.

I am doing as well as I can do, thank you.
